In my first post here I want to share with you the best tropical vacation spots which are easy to get to if you’re based in the US. These places are great for short vacation or for family vacation, particularly with small children.
1. United States Virgin Islands
United States Virgin Islands is one of the most popular Caribbean destinations for Americans. It’s very easy to get there either by plane or by sea. English is the official language of this place which is another good reason to choose this place. United States Virgin Islands are famous for its natural beauty.
2. Belize
If you’re looking for great diving spots, Belize, located at the Caribbean coast, is the place for you. The country is also known for adventure travel (such as exploring caves) and picture-perfect white sand beaches. English is one of the official languages of the country and most people are fluent in it, so you won’t have any problems with communication.
3. Panama
Panama, located in Central America, is one of the most developed countries in this region. It’s a very diverse country: you can visit beautiful tropical beaches, green mountains, modern cities, the Panama Canal and historic ruins. There are many direct flights to Panama from the United States, so it’s very easy to get there.
4. Cayman Islands
Cayman Islands is one of the most developed countries in the Caribbean. It’s a major world offshore financial centre. One of the most popular places is Seven Mile Beach which is a coral-sand beach on the western shore of Grand Cayman island considered one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. The country is a very safe place which makes it a great family destination.
5. Mexico
One of the most obvious choices for people who want to go on tropical vacation, yet don’t want to spend hours in planes. Mexico offers endless attractions: white sand beaches surrounded by beautiful turquoise water (Caribbean coast), tranquil little cities at the Pacific coast, mountains, cenotes, Mayan ruins and very interesting local culture. Moreover, it’s one of the most affordable tropical destinations and since it’s very close to the US, flights are very inexpensive.
Keep in mind that some tropical countries which aren’t geographically close to the United States such as Thailand, Malaysia or Philippines can also be easy to get to thanks to having many airline hubs well connected with airports all over the world such as Bangkok or Kuala Lumpur.
